What is Seventh and Cherry?

Seventh and Cherry is the names of the street intersections where I grew up.

How tall are you?

5′ 2"

What is your favorite trend?

Dislike trends, but if I have to choose, ripped jeans.

Why do you use XO in front of your name?

In 2007, when I got on board with this lil' niché called social media, I knew I wanted the handle to be my nickname, Yaya, but it wasn't available on its own. In the end I clicked with xo, and it fit. It has now become a big part of who I am.

What advice can you give me about starting my own blog?

If you want to start a blog, start a blog. But if you are truly passionate about what you have to say, make sure you are willing to commit to it. Update daily. Stay relevant. Reply back to people who take time to say something to you, EVEN IF IT'S AS SIMPLE & QUICK AS A THANK YOU!

What is your one pet peeve about blogging/bloggers?

I actually have two...

The first is poor customer service. I cannot think of anything more unprofessional than bloggers who ignore the people who helped make them who they are in the blogging world. I know, at times, it's virtually impossible to respond to every person, especially if you're a blogger with thousands of followers, but interacting with your audience—also known as your supporters—as often as you can, shows gratitude. And gratitude is key!

The second is clutter. I will leave a website/blog, I don't care who it belongs to, within seconds, if it is too busy, too loud, too many links. Too much of anything—is too much.

What kind of camera do you use?

About 5 years ago, I begin with the Canon Rebel T3i, I actually still use it for some photos because it's an amazing camera. But now most of my shots are created with the SONY Alpha a7s II.

And believe it or not, some of my favorite shots have been with my iPhone 6s. Apple has really stepped up their camera game. (tip: the key to amazing iPhone photos—outside light).

I hope I've answered my most frequent questions with sufficient info. If there's anything else you want to know, ask me, I don't bite, promise. And as always, BE A NICE HUMAN.
