Did you know my mom has beautiful green eyes? And did you know I don't? Genetics wasn't thinking of me when my eye color was created. Blah, blah, blah, sounds kinda' childish, I know, I get it.
When I was younger, I often wondered what I would look like if I had been born with beautiful colored eyes. After all, my momma had them, why couldn't I have been blessed with them too.
I even went through a phase, when I was about 17, where I purchased green and blue colored contacts.
Isn't it crazy how we always want what we can't have? I wasn't born with green eyes, so I wanted them. In my mind I guess I felt prettier and more secure, so I fed my insecurities.
Note to women: Love yourself, from head to toe, shoulder to shoulder; up and down, inside and out; even if you don't have green eyes. Look in the mirror and tell yourself "I'm beautiful!" Write it on post-its. Remind yourself everyday. Do whatever you have to do to believe in yourself. Because...
BEAUTIFUL GIRL, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. But before anyone can love you, you have to love 'you'... first.
