If you're anything like me, your typical Christmas preps begin during the hot-dog days of summer.
I know, I get it, some of you think I'm nuts, but actually it's not such a far-fetched idea at all.
If you stop for a minute to think about all of the things you try to accomplish during the last quarter of the year, it's a lot. So why put that pressure on yourself? Instead, take a deep breath, inhale summer, exhale it out, then get busy.
I am a sucker for Christmas. Yes I love Thanksgiving but everyone knows Christmas is the best time of year. And if you happen to be in the neighborhood, stop by my home during the holidays, you'll see exactly what I mean.
I'm not the woman who will give you a watered-down cup of hot chocolate. I'm the woman who will serve you a creamy hot cocoa, in a festive mug, with homemade whipped cream and shaved chocolate bits. And as an added touch, I'll even throw in a red & white peppermint stick for stirring. You see, I am all about going overboard. It's an adrenaline that pumps my heart and blows my mind into overdrive. But wait, don't get discouraged if this isn't you, it doesn't take a lot to have a jubilee end-of-year.
IT TAKES DRIVE!
The picture frames in the photo, for example, are from the dollar store. Beautiful or what?
The red paper liner is construction paper and the white stickers can be purchased just about anywhere for pennies. And if you don't have a printer for your labels, find someone who has beautiful handwriting—we all know someone—and ask them to label them for you.
This is a mere example of the many things you can do to get into the holiday spirit. From get togethers and holiday parties to quality time with your family. This is the one time of year when you can go all out. Why not be extra?
And if you start early, you leave more room so you can enjoy the holidays too.
