I think some people have completely lost the idea of what real romance is. Anyone can buy you material things, there’s really no love in that. The truly romantic things in life are the little things you do every day to show you care; that you’re thinking of them. It’s going out of your way to make them happy. The way you hold her hand when you know she’s scared. Or when you save the last piece of cake for him. That random text in the middle of the day just to say: “I love you”, “I miss you” or “Thinking of you”. Or playing her favorite song and asking her to dance in the kitchen when she's cooking. It’s letting her eat your fries or telling her she’s beautiful, even when you know she’s not feeling it. It’s putting your favorite show on pause so he can tell you about his day and laughing at his joke, even if it’s really lame. The little things, you know? It’s slow dancing when no one is watching and kissing in the rain. Or watching the sun rise early in the morning. Romance isn’t about buying, it’s about giving. When someone feeds your soul this way, make sure you give it back. Because true love is rare and very hard to find these days. So when you find it, and it finds you, cherish it, it’s gold.
To me, that is real love; the most romantic kind.
MY THOUGHTS: Order extra fries because you know she’s going to eat yours. Laugh when he’s telling a joke as if it were the first time. Dance her in the kitchen when her favorite song begins to play. Listen to his stories as he tells you about his day. It's the little things.
