MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE...

What better way to enjoy a weekend than with a simple, foolproof chocolate chip cookie. And being that today is NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DAY, I thought I’d share my all-time favorite recipe.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1 egg

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 cup semisweet or milk chocolate chips

Here's how you'll do it:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°

  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.

  3. In a medium bowl, cream together melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar.

  4. Add vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy.

  5. Pour in the flour, baking soda and salt combo into the wet mix and incorporate until well blended. Add 1 cup chocolate chips.

  6. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips. Chill dough in refrigerator, at least 30 minutes.

    *bake 15-17 minutes
