I've always said: "It doesn't take money to have a beautiful home, it takes imagination and creativity; a desire to make the small things look big." And for me, plants are a few of those things.
I do not have a green thumb, but I do love plants so I embrace their growth. In the past, I used to buy plants, and somehow, no matter what I did, they always died. I could never figure out what I was doing wrong until one day when I did the unthinkable. I followed the advice of an article that read: "Sing to your plants!"
Throughout the years I've learned a thing or two about my green girls. I've learned that plants are living things that love music—they do—and as odd as it sounds, if you shower them with love, they thrive. They're very particular to natural light—as some don't even require it. Used coffee grinds, believe it or not, are a favorite soil treat. And good conversation is their specialty.
Well, I used to think that too until one day one of my girls was on the verge of death, so I sang to her. I felt like nothing I did was working so, at that point, I had nothing to lose.
I'd talk to her while watering her soil and sing to her while dusting her leaves. That was about 7 months ago and now she's growing beautifully in a pretty glass pot with gold trim. I placed her near a window as she sits next to a pair of sparkly high heels.
I hope you join me soon as I begin a new category called "INSIDE MY HOME." This is where I showcase bits n' pieces of my home decor, how I decorate, what I do, and how you can save money doing it too.
