I LOVE COOKIES. From chocolate chip and snickerdoodle to peanut butter and oatmeal raisin, just to name a few. So cheers to the base that makes the tradition “of all traditions”… the cookie dough.

And if your family is like mine, when we bake cookies, everyone wants a different kind. So here’s a quick and easy dough recipe you can whip up to make any cookie, at any time.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 cup butter

  • 1-1/4 cups granulated sugar

  • 3 egg yolks

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

Here's what you'll do:

In a bowl, separate your egg yolks from your egg whites, set aside…

  1. In a mixer, cream together butter and sugar

  2. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract, mix well

  3. Add flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar

Once you’ve made the dough, this is where you have the fun.

Using an ice cream scooper, scoop out dough and add any toppings and flavors you’d like for each cookie want.
